Youths in Gombe State intercepted and looted a trailer transporting cartons of food items labeled “Seyi Tinubu.

Youths in Gombe State intercepted and looted a trailer carrying cartons of food items branded with “Seyi Tinubu.”

The items, reportedly palliatives meant for distribution to locals for Iftar during Ramadan, were hijacked at the Old Bauchi Motor Park junction along Gombe-Bauchi Road.

A viral video showed the looted cartons contained food items such as small bags of rice, pasta, sugar, salt, and bottles of cooking oil.

This incident follows criticism from Shamsuddeen Bala Mohammed, son of the Bauchi State Governor, who accused Seyi Tinubu of prioritizing sustainable empowerment programs in the West while only distributing food in the North.

In a statement, he urged Seyi to focus on creating employment opportunities, supporting businesses, and investing in ICT training for Northern youths rather than offering temporary food relief. “Teach our youths how to fish rather than feed them for one day. They are not beggars,” he wrote.
