Trent Alexander-Arnold ‘agrees to join Real Madrid from Liverpool.’

Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid this summer upon the expiration of his Liverpool contract.

According to talkSPORT, the 26-year-old defender will leave Anfield after reaching personal terms on a five-year deal worth over £220,000 per week with the Spanish giants, dealing a major blow to Arne Slot’s squad. The report states that Alexander-Arnold has been in discussions with Carlo Ancelotti’s side since January, with Liverpool being kept informed of the negotiations.

Amid growing speculation, Betfair suspended betting on his move to Real Madrid after a surge of wagers on Tuesday morning. Before this, the odds of his transfer to Los Blancos had been as short as 2/7.

A potential free transfer aligns with Real Madrid’s recent strategy, following similar moves for David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Kylian Mbappe at the end of their contracts.

If the transfer goes through, Alexander-Arnold will reunite with fellow Englishman Jude Bellingham in Spain, with the two known to share a close friendship.
