The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Bauchi State has urged female corps members to return to their families after finishing their service.
During the ceremony held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, where National Service certificates were distributed to those who completed the mandatory year, Yakubu emphasized this message.
Addressing the female members of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream 11, she stated, “Ladies, keep in mind that your boyfriends are not substitutes for your parents. Please do not plan to go to your boyfriends’ homes right after receiving your certificates.”
“Instead, head back to your parents and celebrate this achievement with them. Completing your national service is a significant milestone that deserves to be shared with your family.”
Additionally, she encouraged all corps members to utilize the skills they have developed, especially those from the NYSC’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program.
“Represent your family honorably and be a positive ambassador for Nigeria, your educational institution, and the NYSC,” she added.
She also reminded the corps members to thoroughly review their National Service certificates for any mistakes before having them laminated.
