The Delta State government has directed the School of Nursing, Agbor, to retract a query issued to a student who shared a video of her colleagues singing a controversial welcome song for First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.
Earlier today, a social media campaign emerged, demanding the withdrawal of the query after the letter surfaced online. The school had reportedly questioned the student for posting the video on social media.
In a video statement, Delta State Commissioner for Health, Joseph Onojaeme, confirmed that he had instructed the school to revoke the letter. He further stated that he personally contacted the student, who confirmed that the query was withdrawn late last night.
“The letter of query issued to the student of the School of Nursing, Agbor, has been withdrawn. I instructed the provost to revoke it as we do not intend to victimize any students. I have also spoken to the student involved, and she confirmed to me that the letter was withdrawn late yesterday night,” Onojaeme said.
