Police Arrest Couple for Kidnapping, Assaulting Online Vendor in Lagos, and Threatening to Leak Her Nude Photos

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a couple, identified as Emmanuel and Mmesoma Okafor, for allegedly kidnapping an online vendor.

During a press briefing on Monday, March 10, 2025, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that the couple abducted the victim when she went to deliver a product in the Iyana Ishashi area of the state.

According to Hundeyin, the victim reported the incident on Sunday, March 9, narrating how the couple forcibly dragged her inside their home, str!pped her n@ked, assaulted her, and took explicit photos of her.

The suspects then demanded a ransom of N2 million, threatening to leak the images if she failed to comply.

“The victim received a request for a product and proceeded to the customer’s house in Iyana Ishashi. Upon arrival, the door was opened, and she was forcibly dragged inside by a man and a woman,” Hundeyin stated.

“The suspects, later identified as Emmanuel and Mmesoma Okafor, str!pped her n@ked, beat her up, took her nude pictures, and demanded N2 million or they would leak the images.”

The victim managed to pay N300,000 on the spot before being released, but the couple continued to threaten her, demanding the remaining balance.

She later reported the incident to the police, prompting an immediate investigation.

“The suspects were tracked and arrested. They are currently in police custody as investigations continue,” Hundeyin confirmed.
