Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Takes ‘Sexual Harassment’ Case Against Akpabio to Inter-Parliamentary Union in New York

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has taken her sexual harassment case against Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

She presented her case during the IPU meeting held at the United Nations headquarters in New York on Tuesday, March 11.

Akpoti-Uduaghan had earlier accused Akpabio of making sexual advances toward her, an allegation that followed a heated dispute over the reallocation of her seat in the Senate chamber.

On March 6, she was suspended for six months after the altercation regarding the seating arrangement.

At the IPU meeting, Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she is seeking justice and intervention from international democratic institutions, condemning what she describes as her “unlawful suspension” from the Nigerian Senate.
