Legal proceedings for abuse: A High Court in Ughelli, Delta State has ordered the remand of Perez Kingsley in prison for allegedly assaulting his two children, ages one and three.
Kingsley was arraigned on March 18, 2025, and is being held at Okere Correctional Centre in Warri, pending legal counsel from the Director of Public Prosecution’s office.
Human rights activist Comrade Israel Joe reported that Kingsley is accused of repeatedly assaulting his one-year-old daughter and sodomizing his three-year-old son.

Joe stated, “The father accused of assaulting his one-year-old daughter and causing harm to his three-year-old son has been remanded in prison. Last week, we highlighted this case involving Perez Kingsley, charged with these serious offenses. He appeared in Ughelli High Court and will remain in Okere Prisons awaiting the DPP’s advice.”
He added, “Despite your mother’s political status, justice will not be compromised, as we promised to pursue this matter vigorously. Continue using your resources as you wish – justice will prevail.”
