Suspected kidnappers have abducted two men in Oba Ile community, along Airport Road in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The victims, identified as 50-year-old farm estate owner Mr. Olanrewaju Oyeleye and his farm manager, were taken from their farm by the assailants on Friday, March 7, 2025.
A source close to the victims revealed that the kidnappers contacted their families on Saturday, demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release.
Oyeleye, who had lived abroad for several years, returned to Nigeria about four years ago to invest in mechanized farming.
Confirming the abduction, the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, described the incident as unfortunate.
He assured that Amotekun operatives had been deployed to the forest to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
“The kidnapping of the farmer and his manager happened in the early hours of Thursday, and we have been on it ever since,” Adeleye stated.
“Our men are working tirelessly to ensure the victims are rescued from the abductors, as we are tracking their location.”
