Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, has suggested that the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia would end immediately if the United States imposes sanctions on the top ten Ukrainian oligarchs.
Musk specifically advocated for restrictions on those who own mansions in Monaco.
He made this statement in a tweet on Sunday via his X (formerly Twitter) account.
The American billionaire was responding to an X user, @BasedMikeLee, who questioned “who paid” for the massive Ukrainian flag—reportedly the world’s largest—unfurled near the White House.
“Place sanctions on the top 10 Ukrainian oligarchs, especially the ones with mansions in Monaco, and this will stop immediately. That is the key to the puzzle,” Musk wrote.
This comes just days after Musk accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of prolonging the war to maintain power.
The Ukraine-Russia war began in February 2022 when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in Ukraine. The war has resulted in millions of casualties, and US President Donald Trump has expressed his eagerness to facilitate a peace deal between both parties.
