Presidential Criticism of President Tinubu: Aide Temitope Ajayi Calls for Capital Punishment Against Corps Member Who Criticized President Tinubu
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, has called for capital punishment to be imposed on a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, also known as Raye, over a viral video in which she criticized the Bola Tinubu-led government.
Still on Criticism of President Tinubu: In the video shared online, Raye lamented the soaring cost of living and accused President Tinubu of failing to alleviate Nigerians’ hardships. She later posted another video claiming that NYSC officials had threatened her and pressured her to take down her initial remarks. Her outcry sparked reactions from Nigerians, who condemned the NYSC officials for attempting to silence her.
Reacting to the controversy on Facebook, Ajayi insisted that Raye had violated her oath and the NYSC code of conduct, stating that she deserved the capital punishment prescribed under the scheme.
