Compromised official account Ghana: Recently, the verified X account of Ghana’s President, John Mahama, was compromised for 48 hours by cybercriminals who used the platform to promote a deceptive cryptocurrency initiative named Solanafrica.
Kwakye Ofosu, Mahama’s spokesperson, reported that the hackers misrepresented the project, claiming that Mahama was orchestrating an initiative to enable free payments across Africa using the Solana blockchain.
In a bid to lure Mahama’s followers, the hackers stated that investing in the scheme would revolutionize financial transactions on the continent.
Upon discovering the security breach on Sunday, Mahama’s team promptly eradicated the fraudulent content.

Nonetheless, the account persisted in posting crypto-related material, including insinuations about a forthcoming memecoin.
The public is advised to be wary of any dubious cryptocurrency posts from Mahama’s account.
“The President’s X account was hacked, and we are actively working to restore full control,” stated the team.
