Bode George expressed that this move represents an extreme level of disrespect for the rule of law, stating, “This is total chaos—an utter disregard for the Constitution. Such actions are a flagrant violation of our legal framework.”
Still on Bode George criticized Tinubu
He emphasized the need to speak out against what he described as “recklessness at the highest level.” He questioned the rationale behind this decision, highlighting that the governor of Rivers State, lacking control over security personnel, maintained his composure despite being targeted. He questioned the justification for this dictatorial emergency rule, drawing parallels with historical instances from 1962 and 1983. “This is a precursor for what Tinubu aims to achieve in 2027. The APC seeks to dominate all states through non-constitutional endeavors.”
He also raised legal concerns, asking whether Tinubu obtained the necessary approval from the National Assembly before announcing his declaration and questioned why similar measures were not taken in Lagos amid legislative disputes.
Concluding his address, George asked, “Is Tinubu transforming into a civilian dictator?”
