Beaumont Troy Hospital Shooting: Suspect on the Loose After Injuring 1

 

A shooting incident at the Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital in Michigan has prompted a massive response from multiple law enforcement agencies. The hospital was placed on lockdown “out of an abundance of caution” as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.

 

According to a statement released by Corewell Health, one victim is being treated in the emergency department. The hospital has advised patients with scheduled services to refrain from visiting the hospital until further notice. Instead, patients are encouraged to contact the department where they were scheduled for service directly to receive updates on their appointments.

 

The Troy Police Department confirmed the shooting incident in a post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. The police department emphasized that the incident appears to be isolated, but the suspect remains at large. This has prompted a concerted effort from law enforcement agencies to apprehend the suspect and ensure public safety.

 

The Michigan State Police and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are among the agencies responding to the incident. The Michigan State Police has urged the public to avoid the area surrounding the hospital, advising individuals not to visit the hospital unless absolutely necessary.

 

As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement agencies are working diligently to apprehend the suspect and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The lockdown at the hospital remains in place as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
