Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has awarded N500,000 to Miss Ifebude Benson, the overall best candidate in the 2023 Senior Secondary Schools Certificate Examination conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO).
The state’s Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, presented the cheque on behalf of the governor to Ifebude’s father, Mr. Ben Benson, on Sunday, March 23, in Awka.
Chuma-Udeh stated that the award reflects the governor’s commitment to promoting academic excellence among Anambra students. She highlighted the government’s significant investments in education, aimed at equipping students to compete globally.
Ifebude, from Ndikelionwu in Orumba North Local Government Area, achieved A1 in all nine subjects she sat for in the examination. She is currently studying Medicine and Surgery at the University of Abuja.
Her father expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo, noting that the award would inspire his daughter to continue excelling and representing the state positively.
