Alleged N1.3bn Fraud: Paul Okoye offers encouragement to his brother Jude Okoye, saying, “This too shall pass. Stay strong, brother,” and suggesting that Jude’s arraignment and remand in prison were orchestrated by “someone.”

Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has responded to the arraignment of his older brother, Jude Okoye, and his company, Northside Music Ltd, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, February 26.

Jude was brought before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on a seven-count charge involving alleged money laundering of N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.

Reacting to the development, Paul expressed his support for Jude, stating, “This too shall pass. Stay strong, brother.” He also hinted that the situation was something “someone” had wanted all along, though he did not specify who he was referring to.

This comes after Paul’s twin brother, Peter Okoye, revealed last year that he had filed a petition with the EFCC, accusing Jude of opening a “secret company” and diverting funds from their joint company to it. Jude denied the allegations, clarifying that while they share a joint company, both he and his brothers have their own private ventures—Peter owns P-Classic, and Paul owns Rude Boy Records.

The case has drawn significant attention, highlighting the ongoing tensions and legal battles within the Okoye family.
