Cynthia Wunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has vowed to stand her ground against bullying and protect her son, Liam, as well as her late husband’s legacy. Her declaration came in response to allegations made by Spending, a close friend of Mohbad, who accused her of spreading false narratives about the singer’s death and having a toxic relationship with him.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Wunmi denied Spending’s claims, stating that he was being coached to peddle lies against her. She admitted to having arguments with Mohbad but clarified that they were not for the reasons Spending alleged. She also accused Spending of receiving money from a TikTok platform to make false accusations.
Wunmi expressed her determination to protect her son and her late husband’s legacy, warning those involved to stop tarnishing Mohbad’s memory. She emphasized that she would no longer tolerate being bullied, saying, “No one would bully me again! Not in this life. Not even in the next one.”
She also addressed the ongoing dispute with Mohbad’s family, particularly regarding the DNA test demanded by his father, stating that she has been ready for it since 2023. Wunmi concluded by urging everyone to stop disrespecting Mohbad’s legacy, describing him as a “good man” whose son will grow up to read the negative things being said about him.
Her statement reflects her resolve to defend herself, her son, and her late husband’s reputation amidst the controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death.
