“British Embassy Zagreb Launches Impact Fund 2025-2026: Now Accepting Bids”

 

 

The British Embassy in Zagreb has announced a call for proposals for its Impact Fund, inviting organisations to submit project proposals that aim to achieve significant impact in specific priority areas ¹. The fund’s primary objective is to support projects that strengthen relationships between Croatian and UK people and organisations, with a particular emphasis on activities that promote positive change and have a lasting social impact.

 

*Thematic Areas*

 

The Impact Fund will focus on three main thematic areas:

 

– *Regional Stability and Development*: This area prioritises projects that promote harmonious relationships between communities within Croatia and its neighbours, fostering stability, European integration, and socio-economic advancement. Key areas of focus include:

– Strengthening inter-community understanding, tolerance, and cooperation

– Defending against threats to inter-community relations, such as hate speech and disinformation

– Empowering women and girls, enhancing female civic participation and equality

– *Innovation for Growth*: This area supports projects that nurture long-term research and innovation partnerships between the UK and Croatia, with a focus on fostering economic growth and cooperation. Key areas of focus include:

– Establishing new partnerships between researchers, businesses, and institutions

– Projects focused on policy and regulation, exchanging knowledge and best practices

– Building expertise on the commercialisation of innovation and connecting Croatian companies to venture capitals and tech ecosystems

– *Energy and Climate*: This area prioritises projects that promote green growth, support the transition to clean energy sources, and deepen UK-Croatia cooperation. Key areas of focus include:

– Establishing commercial and scientific partnerships in the development of net-zero technologies

– Partnerships in energy efficiency and storage, emission reduction, and accelerating the transition to net-zero

 

*Activity Bid Guidance*

 

The British Embassy will support projects with activities taking place between 20 June 2025 and 15 February 2026. The maximum project budget limit is 11,500 Euros. Project bids will be assessed against criteria such as alignment with thematic priorities, likelihood of achieving real-world impact, and value for money.

 

*Bidding Process*

 

Proposals must be submitted using the online application form by 12:00 pm on 14 April 2025. Late proposals will not be considered. Successful bidders will be notified by the end of May.

 

*Additional Information*

 

The British Embassy in Zagreb will host an online question-and-answer session about the bidding process on Wednesday, 26 March 2025, at 2 pm (CET). All project implementers will be expected to sign a standard contract or grant agreement with the Embassy, with terms that are not negotiable.
