A British woman has been charged with the murd£r of her two-year-old daughter, Annabel Mackey, who d!ed after disappearing from their home and being discovered in a nearby pond.
Annabel was reported missing from her residence in Kingsley, Hampshire, on September 10, 2023, triggering an urgent police search. Shortly after, officers found her unresponsive in Kingsley Pond, located half a mile from her £600,000 family home. She was rushed to the hospital but tragically passed away the following day.
Her mother, Alice Mackey, 42, has now been formally charged with murd£r and is set to appear in Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Annabel’s father, Peter, paid a heartfelt tribute, describing her as a “beautiful, positive, and happy little girl” with a “pure and caring nature.” He shared how she loved story time, dogs, and singing nursery rhymes, adding, *”Annabel, I love you so much. You are a shining star and will be loved forever.”*
On the day of her disappearance, authorities were alerted at around 5:02 PM, and police divers were seen searching the pond the next day.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson confirmed the investigation, stating that detectives from the Major Crime Team had thoroughly examined Annabel’s final movements before she was found.
Mackey remains in custody as legal proceedings move forward.
